Effect of the Use of Ambulance-Based Thrombolysis on Time to Thrombolysis in Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Abstract Full Text

JAMA. 2014;311(16):1622-1631. doi:10.1001/jama.2014.2850

Ebinger and coauthors investigated whether starting thrombolysis in a specialized ambulance reduces delays. They assessed time reduction in 1804 patients for whom a Stroke Emergency Mobile was deployed vs 2969 patients in control weeks. In an Editorial, Grotta discusses efforts to improve treatment outcomes for patients with acute ischemic stroke by reducing time from symptom onset to treatment.
