Ryan Binkley

Texas pastor and businessman Ryan Binkley was in Grinnell Thursday afternoon to do what his campaign called a "Mainstreet walk." He stopped at a local coffee shop to introduce himself to people there, and then took his campaign strategy outside. He walked from business to business in downtown Grinnell to talk with locals about what issues matter most to them.

The campaign said name recognition has been their biggest challenge. That's why they say having face-to-face interactions has been their main strategy.

"It's all about meeting people where they're at," Morgan Bonwell, state director for the Binkley campaign, said. "Going into people's family rooms like we're doing today, just walking store to store and meeting people."

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made a stop in Ankeny Thursday morning for a roundtable discussion on parental rights. His wife, Casey, joined him for the event.

He then headed to Marion later in the day for the first “Stop the Swamp” event.

DeSantis sits at 19 percent in Iowa, according to the latest poll from the , NBC News and Mediacom.

Nikki Haley

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley wrapped up stops in New Hampshire Thursday evening. She'll return to Iowa on Friday and Saturday with four stops in the eastern part of the state.

Haley sits at 16 percent in Iowa, according to the latest poll from the , NBC News and Mediacom.


Vivek Ramaswamy

Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy held events in Rockwell City, Jefferson and Stuart on Thursday night. It's part of his effort to complete a second "full Grassley."

His campaign said he is expected to do that on Jan. 2.
