The 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' reboot is bringing Harvey back

The Riverdale showrunner is reviving the classic series.

Important news for Sabrina the Teenage Witch fans: everyone's favorite '90s heartthrob, Harvey Kinkle, will appear in the show's new reboot. Harvey was originally played by Nate Richert, who starred opposite the original Sabrina, Melissa Joan Hart. Now, thanks to an Instagram shared by Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is heading up the Sabrina reboot based upon his comic book version, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, we know that Harvey is coming back.In the first page of the script, shared by Aguirre-Sacasa, Sabrina is in the forest with boyfriend Harvey. And unlike in the '90s series, Sabrina reveals all of her secrets to Harvey straight away. She says: "I... wanted you to see where I was born, Harvey. Not in Greendale General, like it says on my birth certificate. Here. In this grove of trees. Almost 16 years ago. And, uhm, where I'll be reborn this Saturday night. On my birthday. At the stroke of midnight. In the middle of a penumbral lunar eclipse. The kind that only happens once every 66 years. That's why I can't go to Rosalind's Halloween party this weekend."The Sabrina reboot is definitely heading in a much darker direction than the original, much in the same way that Riverdale deviates from the classic version of the Archie comics. Notably, Sabrina features in Afterlife With Archie, which was also written by Aguirre-Sacasa, and featured several other supernatural elements, including zombies. As Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale are firmly set in the same universe, it's likely that a crossover episode will happen in the very near future. Here's to hoping Nate Richert and Melissa Joan Hart are brought back in to play the parents of one of the teen characters. As Riverdale has already utilized so many former teen stars like Luke Perry and Molly Ringwald, the Sabrina reboot feels like the perfect opportunity to reignite the careers of the original show's stars!
