Dallas, Dynasty, and Hawaii Five-O, are just a few '80s television series making their way back on to screens—and now you can add on more to that list. A new Magnum P.I. pilot is coming to CBS, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Similar to the original starring Tom Selleck, the new series will follow the adventures of an ex-Navy SEAL returning from Afghanistan who now resides in Hawaii and uses his military experience to solve crimes. But unlike the '80s version with four male leads, this new program will star three men and one woman. The new series comes from Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver reboot producers Peter Lenkov and Eric Guggenheim. We're betting if you like those updated series, then you're gonna enjoy this one too.Back in the day, the original show was a hit with audiences. When the series wrapped up in 1988, more than 50.7 million people tuned in, making it one of the most successful series finales of all time, according to Mental Floss. The critics loved it too. Tom's role earned him an Emmy and seven back-to-back Golden Globe nominations. But of course everyone wants to know, will Tom Selleck be involved? While there's no information confirming his involvement, it's a strong possibility considering Tom's ties to the network through his current show Blue Bloods. Here's hoping for a cameo!(h/t Rolling Stone)
