In 1989, the toy world blessed us with the Polly Pocket compact, which was pocket-sized and had miniature worlds inside. Some of the most iconic Polly Pockets included water park Polly and schoolhouse Polly (school is boring for regular people, but not for Polly). When Mattel took over Bluebird Toys in 1998, giving the whole Polly Pocket line an upgrade, the compacts got the boot and the dolls themselves got a little bigger.
But don't worry, because you won't be compact-less for much longer. The new line will include Polly in various scenes in compact locations, as she always did.
