Iowa football vs. Troy: How to watch the Hawkeyes' non-conference finale

Iowa football vs. Troy: How to watch the Hawkeyes' non-conference finale
AUTO GROUP. YOU WANT IT? WE GOT IT. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE CY-HAWK GAME. A GAME THAT, 24 HOURS LATER, STILL FEELS LIKE A DREAM FOR IOWA STATE FANS. HOWEVER, A NIGHTMARE FOR IOWA FANS. A 54 YARD FIELD GOAL, A KICK THAT WILL GO DOWN IN CY-HAWK LORE, BUT THAT KICK NEVER HAPPENS WITHOUT ROCCO BECK BECAUSE HE’S THE ONE WHO GOT THEM SET UP IN THE FIRST PLACE, AND AFTER WHAT WE SAW IN THE FIRST HALF, JUST HOW DOMINANT THE IOWA DEFENSE LOOKED, IT DIDN’T SEEM REMOTELY POSSIBLE FOR IOWA STATE’S OFFENSE TO GET GOING. BUT SLOWLY BUT SURELY, THEY DID. BECK HAD A TOUCHDOWN STRIKE TO JADEN HIGGINS HERE. YOU SEE ON YOUR SCREEN THE 75 YARD BOMB TO JALEN NOLL. AND ON THE LAST DRIVE OF THE GAME THEY GET THE BALL BACK WITH 40S. NO TIMEOUTS. AND BECK WAS ABLE TO MARCH IOWA STATE DOWN THE FIELD WITH GREAT POISE. BUT ON THE FIELD RIGHT HERE A GREAT PASS TO JALEN NOLL. WE CAME BACK WITH A PLAY THAT WOULD KIND OF GET A PICK ON HIS GUY, AND HE ENDED UP JUST BEATING HIM WITH SPEED. AND I KNOW THAT SAFETY IS HIGH. JUST TAKING OFF WITH JADEN. AND SO I JUST TRIED TO GIVE HIM A CHANCE. TRY TO PUT A BALL OUT THERE FOR HIM TO GO GET IT. AND HE DID. HE DID THE REST OF IT. WHAT YOU SAW TODAY IS WHAT MAKES THAT GUY SPECIAL. TO BE ABLE TO COME BACK, MAN. YOU THROW AN INTERCEPTION IN THE FIRST HALF. YOU KNOW, AND TO BE ABLE TO COME BACK AND HAVE THE POISE AND THE DISCIPLINE AND SOME OF THOSE THROWS, HE MADE WERE INCREDIBLE IN THE SECOND HALF, ROCCO BECK, AS WE MENTIONED, REALLY SOLID AGAINST THAT STOUT IOWA DEFENSE WHEN HE GOT GOING 23 OF 35 272 YARDS THROUGH THE AIR AND TWO TOUCHDOWNS AND ONE INTERCEPTION IN THE FIRST QUARTER. BUT THAT WAS IT. BACK TO BIG DAY DELIVERING IOWA STATE ITS FIRST COMEBACK WIN OF 13 PLUS POINTS SINCE 2020. HIS COUNTERPART ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT GAME, CADE MCNAMARA. WE KNOW IN WEEK ONE HE HAD A BIG GAME, 251 YARDS, HAD THE FANS BUZZING. THAT WAS AGAINST ILLINOIS STATE, IOWA STATE PROVED TO BE A MUCH TOUGHER TASK. OF COURSE, THEY WERE. MCNAMARA ACTUALLY STARTED THE GAME SOMEWHAT HOT. WE’LL GET TO THAT IN A MOMENT. BUT THE IOWA STATE DEFENSE WAS ABLE TO STIFLE THE HAWKEYE QUARTERBACK EXECUTION JUST WASN’T THERE. AND YOU KNOW, I NEEDED TO DO BETTER. AND WE JUST NEED TO BE BETTER OVERALL. WE WERE TRYING DIFFERENT THINGS. AND YOU KNOW, SOME STUFF’S GOING TO WORK AND SOME STUFF DOESN’T. AND, YOU KNOW, I THINK YOU KNOW, THIS IS GOING TO BE A GOOD LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR US TO, YOU KNOW, SEE WHEN YOU KNOW, OBVIOUSLY WHEN WE’RE NOT GETTING A LOT GOING, YOU SEE WHAT WORKS FOR US WHEN, YOU KNOW, TO GET OURSELVES BACK INTO A RHYTHM. IT WAS A TALE OF TWO QUARTERBACKS WHEN IT COMES TO CADE MCNAMARA, FIRST EIGHT PASS OF THE GAME, CADE COMPLETED SEVEN OF THEM, 61 YARDS. HIS PASS EFFICIENCY WAS THROUGH THE ROOF AT 150 1.6, WHICH IS REALLY GOOD. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, HE DIDN’T COMMIT A TURNOVER THE REST OF THE WAY. OH, THEY FELL OFF A CLIFF. THOSE NUMBERS JUST SIX OF 21 PASSING 38 YARDS THREW TWO INTERCEPTIONS, ALBEIT ONE OF THOSE WAS THE HAIL MARY ATTEMPT AT THE END OF THE GAME. AND THE PASS EFFICIENCY WAS NOT GOOD EITHER. 24.7 IOWA’S SECOND HALF DRIVES NOT GREAT EITHER. OUTSIDE OF ONE TOUCHDOWN IN THE SECOND DRIVE OF THE GAME, THAT 179 YARDS. YOU SEE IT. INTERCEPTION THE TOUCHDOWN THREE YARDS. PUNT NEGATIVE TWO YARDS. PUNT PUNT PUNT. AND THEN THE FINAL. TWO PUNT INTERCEPTION. CAN’T HAVE THAT. IF YOU’RE GOING TO WIN GAMES. HAWKEYE FANS THOUGH, LET’S LOOK AT THE POSITIVES FROM THE GAME IF YOU’RE SO INCLINED. CALEB JOHNSON WAS A HUGE POSITIVE. THE JUNIOR RUNNING BACK WAS BORDERLINE UNSTOPPABLE FOR IOWA. HE RAN FOR 187 YARDS ON 25 CARRIES, HAD TWO TOUCHDOWNS. HE WAS SUPERB DESPITE THE LOSS. THAT’S A PERFORMANCE TO GROW ON, AND HE COULD BE A HUGE PART OF THE IOWA OFFENSE. AND HE WILL BE A HUGE PART OF THE IOWA OFFENSE MOVING FORWARD. I JUST FEEL LIKE, WELL, THE FIRST THING I COULD THINK IS MY O LINE, BECAUSE WITHOUT THEM, I WOULDN’T HAVE TO HOLD THE HOLES THAT I HAVE TO MAKE THE RUNS THAT I MADE TO MAKE THE RUNS THAT I MADE. SO I JUST THANK THEM. AND YOU KNOW, THAT’S WHAT HE IS. HE’S PLAYED WELL FOR US THE LAST TWO YEARS, BUT HE’S HE’S PLAYING AT A MUCH HIGHER LEVEL RIGHT NOW. PART OF THAT’S MATURITY. YOU KNOW HIS FOCUS IS BETTER. HE’S PRACTICING BETTER. YOU KNOW I THINK HE’S IT’S EXPERIENCE AND MATURITY. WELL IOWA WILL HAVE A CHANCE NEXT SATURDAY TO GET BACK IN THE WIN COLUMN. THEY CALL THIS A GET RIGHT GAME AS WINLESS TROY MAKES ITS WAY TO KINNICK. AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS, YOU BETTER GET RIGHT. 3 P.M. FOX SPORTS ONE. THAT’S HOW YOU CAN WATCH IT. THE TALK OF SATURDAY, OF COURSE, WAS ON THAT GAME IN IOWA CITY. DON’T TELL DRAKE FOOTBALL FANS THAT BECAUSE WHILE ALL THE EYES WERE ON KINNICK, THE BULLDOGS PLAYED ON RED TURF AND PULLED OFF AN ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE UPSET OF EASTERN WASHINGTON. THE EAGLES WERE CONSIDERED TO BE A 30 PLUS POINT FAVORITE, BUT HOW COULD YOU EVER BET AGAINST THE DOGS? DRAKE WON THE GAME IN OVERTIME. LUKE BAILEY TO TREY RADICA, A WALK-OFF WINNER. DRAKE WON THE GAME 3532. CAITLIN CLARK AND THE FEVER AT HOME, TAKING ON THE ATLANTA DREAM. CLARK’S BEEN FANTASTIC. OF COURSE, GETTING THIS TEAM TO THE PLAYOFFS. THEY TRAILED BY AS MANY AS 16IN THE THIRD QUARTER, BUT THEY STORMED BACK DOWN SIX. NICE LITTLE ACTION BETWEEN SHE AND ALIYAH BOSTON. SHE HITS A 31 FOOTER. IT’S A THREE POINT GAME. HEAD TO THE FOURTH. THREE POINT GAME AGAIN. CLARKE SIDE FADEAWAY THREE FROM THE CORNER. WE’RE TIED AT 69. CLARK HAD 26 POINTS ON THE DAY. 12 ASSISTS A DOUBLE DOUBLE. ALIYAH BOSTON THOUGH GOT TO GIVE HER HER FLOWERS. SHE WAS UNBELIEVABLE. SHE LED THE FEVER IN SCORING. TIES THE GAME AT 90. WE HEAD TO OVERTIME 9898. LEXIE HULL DOWN INTO BOSTON AGAIN. THE HOOK SHOT GOES OVERTIME WIN FOR THE FEVERS BOSTON GOES FOR. 3104 100 IS YOUR FINAL. CALEB WILLIAMS HAD HIS NFL REGULAR SEASON OPENER AND IT LEFT A L
