Iowa amends Brian Ferentz's contract
The University of Iowa has amended the of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Ferentz for the 2023 season, the school announced today.
The contract amendments include a salary of $850,000, effective Feb. 1, 2023.
Along with the change in salary, there are financial incentives based on Designated Performance Objectives.
Those objectives include an average of 25 points per game and a minimum of seven wins, including regular season and a possible bowl game. If those objectives are met, the contract will return to the prior two-year rolling agreement terms, along with a one-time lump sum bonus and base salary adjustment.
Ferentz was hired as the team's offensive coordinator in 2017. In the 2022 season Iowa averaged just 17.7 points per game and 251.6 yards per game.
