Ina Garten revealed the three kitchen tools she can't live without

One of them will surprise you!

Ina Garten is known for her simple, classic recipes, so we're not surprised that she doesn't need much to throw a delicious meal together. In fact, when restaurateur Danny Meyer asked Ina to choose her ride-or-die kitchen tools during a talk at the 92Y in New York City earlier this week, she had no problem listing the three tools she needs most. A good set of knives is so necessary, especially knives that are nice and sharp, Ina told Danny, according to Bon Appétit. However, Ina admitted there's one dish her knives are useless for: duck. "There was one time I was carving a duck, and it's all bones. I just can't do it! I must have said something that rhymes with 'duck,'" she said, laughing. Because of that incident, she makes sure to keep "a big box of Band-Aids in the kitchen drawer, just in case." (So maybe Band-Aids should be on this list too?) Half-sheet pans also rank in Ina's top three. They allow her to cook anything she likes in the oven. We're sure she relies on them a lot, especially when she's cooking a roast chicken, which happens to be her most-praised recipe. The last must-have tool on Ina's list is more surprising—a zester. "I love zesting!" she told Danny, adding that her favorites are oranges and lemons. "You can make a lot with those three tools," she said, and we believe it. If anyone can make cooking look easy as pie, it's the Barefoot Contessa. Ina also revealed that her favorite cookbooks (besides her own) are specialty food store cookbooks, such as Anna Pump's Loaves and Fishes Cookbook and any of Sarah Chase's books because they're all about comfortable food that you can easily make at home. With these tools and cookbooks in hand, we have everything we need to cook like a legend! (ht/ Bon Appetit)
