John Legend, Ricky Martin, Andy Samberg, others came together for tongue-in-cheek celebration of this year's diverse list of nominees

Kate McKinnon and Kenan Thompson, both nominated for Emmy awards tonight, opened the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards with a rousing musical number that celebrated the awards show's diverse lineup of nominees. Joining the musical performance were Tituss Burgess, Kristen Bell, Ricky Martin, RuPaul, recent Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony — or EGOT — winner John Legend and Sterling K. Brown. Andy Samberg was quickly banished from the stage after his entrance, as a joke. "We Solved It" was, of course, tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at this year's diverse nominees when, historically, the awards have been lacking in diversity.
