Hundreds of bulldogs have hopes each year to compete for a year-long reign as the Drake Relays mascot.Contestants take to the pup-way to strut their stuff and wow the judges to be crowned king or queen of Drake University's annual Beautiful Bulldog Contest.In 1979, Pudger of Des Moines took home the very first crown.Watch the video above to see Patch the bulldog, from Johnston, become top dog in 2023.
