IN A LETTER TO PARENTS, THE DISTRICT SAYS STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO PUT THEIR PHONES IN A DESIGNATED AREA BEFORE THE START OF CLASSES. THEY WILL BE ALLOWED TO USE THEIR PHONES BEFORE SCHOOL BEGINS. More schools across Iowa are making the decision this year to keep cellphones out of the classroom. That now includes Ames.In a letter to parents, the Ames Community School District says students will be asked to put their phones in a designated area before the start of classes.They will be allowed to use their phones before school begins, during lunch periods and in passing periods.
