This book, volume 7 of the Progress in Clinical Neurophysiology series, is divided into three sections: the first is on the neural basis of the components of somatosensory-evoked potential (SEP) and the techniques for recording them, the second outlines the effects of maturation, sleep, and aging on the SEP, and the final section discusses the effects of various clinical conditions on both somatosensory and auditory-evoked potentials. There are 19 separate chapters, three of which were written by the editor and his co-workers and the remainder by other experts in the field of evoked potentials.
