Abstract

External distinguishing features of the head and extremities and the peculiarly human psychology determined by genetics are considered in the second part of the first volume of Humangenetik. It came off the press in the spring of 1969, five years after the second volume (the first to be released), and 11 years after the series was planned. A third book of the first volume will decribe blood groups and factors and a second book of the third volume will describe the blood, heart, vasculature, lungs, and digestive system. Then the so-called short handbook will be complete, and book reviewers like me can finish our peripatetic comments on its high cost, outlandish language, and great length, already 8½ inches along the shelf. Readers will continue to value its comprehensiveness, penetration, and scholarly approach, as was mentioned in the review of the first part of volume 1, last April (1969) in this
