Welder makes wife iconic iron throne for their 'Game of Thrones' themed wedding
A "Game of Thrones" fan showed his larger-than-life love of his wife by helping build an intricate, 200-pound throne just for her.
Michael Hayes, who was a student at the Knight School of Welding in Louisville, Kentucky, at the time, asked school leaders last year if they could help him create the iconic "Game of Thrones" chair.
"The ‘Game of Thrones’ show is one of the first things that my wife and I really bonded on," Michael said of his wife, Kacie. "So it’s a really important thing to us."
Two months and more than 100 working hours later, the throne, made up of more than 300 welded swords, was completed in time for their themed wedding.
Now, those who are local to the Louisville, Kentucky, area have the opportunity to rent the throne.
