Video: 'Pony Whisperer' police officer brings in hoofed suspect
The suspect fleeing police was covered in light brown fur with a blond mane, couldn't be cuffed and was only captured when community members supplied carrots to pacify him.
In the end, the runaway pony was processed for Florida officers for fleeing to elude police.
The Clewiston Police Department captured the after the little horse got out of his enclosure and started running down a local highway. A "Pony Whisperer" identified as a department officer got the credit for taking in the pony, pulling it along by rope while slowly driving along in a police cruiser.
Police went easy on the escaped pony.
"After interviewing the pony, he was released as he was just trying to train for a future marathon," a Facebook post said.
By the time the pony's run-in with the law ended, his horse friends were relieved to see him return to the enclosure, police said.
