The Bunny is back.
After years of rumors, LeBron James is officially joining Bugs and the Tune Squad in a reboot of "Space Jam." As if that wasn't exciting enough, the film is being produced by Ryan Coogler, the director behind "Black Panther" and "Creed." Terence Nance is directing the film, which is tentatively scheduled to begin production in 2019.
The original film starred Michael Jordan along with the team of Looney Toons in what many consider to be one of the most formidable movie in the lives of young '90s kids.
In an , James said he was inspired by Coogler's vision with "Black Panther" and "Creed."
“The 'Space Jam' collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie,” James said.
“It's so much bigger. I'd just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don't just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”
The original film came with a laundry list of cameos, including Bill Murray, Larry Bird and Charles Barkley, just to name a few, but no official cameos in the newest edition have been announced.
