Kevin Spacey's Emmy Founders Award has been revoked on October 31 following the recent sexual advance allegation against the actor.The award was due to be presented to the House of Cards star at the 45th International Emmy Awards Gala on November 20 in New York City, but in a new statement, the organization said, "The International Academy has announced today that in light of recent events it will not honor Kevin Spacey with the 2017 International Emmy Founders Award."Back in June, the Academy announced that it would present the award to the two-time Oscar winner "who crosses cultural boundaries".It comes after Star Trek: Discovery's Anthony Rapp claimed that Spacey made a "sexual advance" on him when Rapp was 14.Rapp alleges that when he was a child star back in 1986, Spacey invited him to his apartment for a party in New York and at the end of the night picked him up, placed him on his bed and climbed on top of him making a sexual advance, but he managed to push him off before leaving.Rapp told Buzzfeed News he believed Spacey was "trying to seduce ", and Rapp was also "aware that he was trying to get with sexually".Spacey said he has "a lot of respect and admiration" for Rapp, and was "beyond horrified to hear his story"."I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago," he said in his Twitter statement.Spacey posted a statement to Twitter on October 30th offering "the sincerest apology", which brought criticism as people criticized the 58-year-old for seemingly deflecting from the allegations of misconduct by making an announcement about his sexuality.Sarah Kate Ellis of GLAAD said, "This is not a coming-out story about Kevin Spacey, but a story of survivorship by Anthony Rapp and all those who bravely speak out against unwanted sexual advances.
