Whenever you throw an event to talk about health, the tendency is to attract only people who are interested in health and thereby already healthy. So to get around that, some local volunteers are trying to blitz the public with information about health so that no matter where you go this week, you're liable to run into somebody telling you to get more exercise or clean up your diet. Events and displays are planned at various locations all week for Health Blitz 82. Take for example the Hug Inn at Nolan Plaza over the lunch hour today. Anybody just walking by could have been accosted by *** total stranger wanting to give away *** hug. Experts say adults should have *** minimum daily requirement of 3 hugs *** day. Well, we think human beings need to be in contact, and we live there's so many fear dimensions in our society. We thought it'd be fun to just to build on the trust level, get people literally in contact. We didn't try to man that everybody had to give big squeeze and hugs today just be together. It was *** lot easier to hug people that I knew. I. Stood back from those that I didn't. Why, why do we do that? Touch is threatening. And how does it feel to be hugged? Well, first of all, you feel *** little afraid, but then it really feels kind of good to be close to somebody. The only way to really describe it is, well, Dave Buick, TV 8 News.
