Iowa women's basketball stays steady as No. 2 seed in latest NCAA Tournament projections

The Hawkeyes (24-4, 13-3 in Big Ten play) are among the No. 2 seeds in ESPN's latest women's college basketball bracket projection released Tuesday morning. You can .
As a No. 2 seed, Iowa would have the option to host the first and second rounds at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Hawkeyes would host No. 15 seed Albany in the first round before potentially facing the winner of No. 7 seed Duke and No. 10 seed Middle Tennessee. The No. 1 seed in Iowa's region would be Stanford.
Drake, a No. 12 seed and the Missouri Valley's automatic qualifier in the new projection, is also in the same region as Iowa. The Bulldogs would take on No. 5 seed Baylor in the first round, according to ESPN's bracket.
Iowa State checks in as a No. 11 seed with a first-round matchup against former Cyclone Lexi Donarski and No. 6 seed North Carolina. Donarski played in and started 95 games in three years in Ames, earning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2021-22.
