WITH. OH, I’M GLAD WE’RE NOT IN TEXAS. YEAH, THANKFULLY, WE ARE GETTING RID OF THE HEAT HERE, AND IT WILL BE A BETTER EVENING FOR YOUR FOOTBALL FRIDAY NIGHT. WE’VE HAD SOME THUNDERSTORMS. ROLL ACROSS THE STATE HERE THIS EVENING WITH THAT COLD FRONT THAT IS PUSHING THROUGH. WE COULD SEE A FEW ISOLATED STORMS AROUND 7:00 PM, BUT MOST OF THIS ACTIVITY IS PUSHING OFF TO THE SOUTH. TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE UPPER 80S, NEAR 90 RIGHT NOW, BUT WILL SLOWLY BUT SURELY SEE THOSE TEMPERATURES DECREASE HERE AS WE HEAD INTO THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS. STILL WATCHING THE STORMS RIGHT NOW. YOU CAN SEE THEM CLEARLY FROM OUR WEST DES MOINES TOWER CAMERA LOOKING OFF TO THE SOUTH AT TOWERING THUNDERSTORM THERE NEAR I-35. AND PARTS OF WARREN COUNTY, CRESTON. YOU HAD A DECENT SHOWER WORKING ITS WAY THROUGH THERE EARLY ON AS WELL. LOOK, THE NEXT FEW HOURS HERE, WE’LL STILL HAVE THOSE TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 80S TO NEAR 90. LOOK AT THE HEAT INDICES RIGHT NOW ON THE IOWA MISSOURI BORDER FROM CLARINDA OVER TOWARDS CENTERVILLE, RANGING BETWEEN 105 TO 110. BUT FOR THE REST OF US, THOUGH, WE’RE GOING TO SEE THOSE TEMPERATURES DROP AS WE MOVE INTO THE EVENING HOURS, DOWN TO 83 BY TEN, 77 BY TWO, UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR LOCATIONS ALONG AND SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 92. FOR ANOTHER HOUR AND A HALF. AND THEN ONCE WE GET PAST THAT, WE’LL FINALLY START TO GET RID OF ALL THAT INTENSE HEAT. VIRGO SHOWERS RIGHT NOW FROM HIGHWAY 34, FROM CRESTON OVER TOWARDS SHERATON, OSCEOLA, ALBIA AS WELL. ALL THIS IS PUSHING OFF TO THE SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST. AND YOU CAN SEE THEY HAVEN’T LEFT MUCH RAINFALL, AT LEAST FOR US HERE. LOCALLY, ONLY TWO HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH IN THE DES MOINES METRO AREA. TODAY, WE HAD A BIGGER COMPLEX OF STORMS UP ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA THAT PRODUCED A QUARTER TO NEARLY THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH OF RAIN THIS MORNING. OUR FRONT CONTINUES TO PROGRESS OFF TO THE SOUTH. TEMPERATURES ARE FALLING BACK INTO THE 80S WITH DRIER AIR BEHIND THAT AND WILL CONTINUE TO SEE THAT DRY AIR WORK ITS WAY IN DURING THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS, ALLOWING THAT THUNDERSTORM CHANCE TO EXIT THE STATE SKIES WILL BE PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY DURING THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS. AND THEN TOMORROW WILL LIKELY SEE A LITTLE BIT MORE CLEARING, ESPECIALLY FOR CENTRAL AND NORTHERN PARTS OF THE STATE. HIGH TEMPERATURE UP TO 85 SUNDAY LOOKS TO BE A DECENT DAY. A LIGHT NORTH WIND, FAIRLY DRY AIR UP TO 81. AND THEN AS WE GET INTO SUNDAY OR MONDAY HERE, WE’LL START TO SEE THOSE CLOUDS WORK THEIR WAY BACK IN AHEAD OF ANOTHER FRONT THAT MAY BRING IN A CHANCE FOR AN ISOLATED STORM FOR TONIGHT, A LOW OF 68 HERE IN THE DES MOINES METRO AREA STILL LOWER 70S TO THE SOUTH AND THEN 60S OFF TO THE NORTH WITH THOSE THUNDERSTORM IS DIMINISHING. 68 OVERNIGHT WITH THOSE ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM AMES, PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. OTHERWISE. AND THEN FOR TOMORROW, 85 UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES, WE COULD SEE A FEW MORE CLOUDS OFF TO THE SOUTH AND YOU CAN SEE TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE STATE GENERALLY RANGE FROM THE UPPER 70S TO MID 80S. EIGHT DAY FORECAST SAYS A DECENT DAY COMING UP SUNDAY WITH A HIGH OF 81. ANOTHER CHANCE FOR A FEW STORMS ON MONDAY AND THEN LARGELY TEMPERATUR
