Iowa weather: Warmer air tomorrow with light snow likely
YEAH, I MEAN, THAT STUFF’S SO IMPORTANT. I KNOW THAT WHEN IT’S THAT HOT OUT, COME SUMMER, WE’LL BE LIKE, MAN, IT’S TOO HOT. BUT RIGHT NOW WE TAKE IT, TAKE IT EASY WITH JUST A LITTLE SMIDGEN OF IT. JUST A LITTLE TASTE WOULD BE NICE. YEAH, YEAH, IT HAS BEEN BRUTAL. IF YOU’RE OUTSIDE EVEN LAST NIGHT. WHAT? 10:11 P.M. FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURES WERE DOWN INTO THE 20S BELOW. AND LOOKING OUTSIDE AT THE MOMENT. STILL CLOUDS WORKING THEIR WAY ON IN. WE’VE HAD SOME SNOW SHOWERS THAT HAVE REALLY BEEN TRYING TO DEVELOP, BUT WITH THAT DRY LAYER AT THE SURFACE, WE’VE SEEN IT REALLY EAT AWAY AT THE BULK OF, THOUGH STILL A LOT IN THE PIPELINE THOUGH, AND WILL LIKELY CONTINUE TO SEE SOME OF THIS START TO FALL AS WE HEAD INTO TOMORROW MORNING. BUT WHERE THE SNOW IS FALLING RIGHT NOW, IT IS HEAVY DOWN ALONG THE GULF COAST, WHERE SOME FOLKS HAVE SEEN AS MUCH AS TEN INCHES JUST IN ANOMALOUS SNOW STORM FOR THEM. AND THAT’S GOING TO CONTINUE TO WORK ITS WAY EASTWARD, INCLUDING AREAS LIKE CHARLESTON, JACKSONVILLE, AND THE WHOLE PANHANDLE OF FLORIDA. GETTING IN ON THIS. SO OUR SNOW SHOWERS NOT TOO BAD COMPARED TO THAT. AS WE WORK OUR WAY INTO TOMORROW MORNING, YOU CAN SEE THE SNOW SHOWERS THAT CONTINUE TO TRY TO FIGHT THEIR WAY THROUGH THAT DRY LAYER INTO THE EVENING WILL LIKELY SEE SOME MORE SNOW SHOWERS, THOUGH A LOT OF THAT ACTIVITY WILL HAVE SHIFTED THROUGH EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE. IMPORTANT TO NOTE THOUGH, TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE BACK UP THERE. WE’RE GOING TO BE TALKING HIGHS IN A LOW TO MID 30S, SO IT WILL BE COMFORTABLE. BUT THOSE TEMPERATURES DO COME CRASHING DOWN AGAIN THURSDAY MORNING WHEN WE’RE TALKING BELOW ZERO. WIND CHILLS BACK TO AROUND 10 TO 15 BELOW. ACROSS MUCH OF THE STATE. SO HOW MUCH SNOW ARE WE GOING TO SEE? NOT EXACTLY A HEAPING HELPING. COULD SEE SOME SPOTS OF AN INCH, MAYBE INCH AND A HALF UP THROUGH FORT DODGE TO IOWA FALLS. OTHERWISE, ALL OF US GENERALLY ARE GOING TO BE TALKING LESS THAN AN INCH AND REALLY LESS THAN A HALF INCH. AS THIS MOISTURE STRAP SYSTEM WORKS ITS WAY ON THROUGH. BUT TEMPERATURE WISE. AGAIN, NOT BAD. NOT NEARLY AS BAD AS WE’VE BEEN THE PAST FEW MORNINGS. AS THOSE TEMPERATURES CLIMB THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT, WE’RE TALKING MID TO UPPER TEENS AS WE START THE DAY WITH HIGHS IN THE AFTERNOON BACK INTO THE LOW TO MID 30S. SO GETTING A LITTLE BIT MORE COMFORTABLE WILL ACTUALLY BE A COUPLE DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE. LOOKING AT YOUR WINDS, NOT TOO BLUSTERY OUT THERE. WE’LL SEE THOSE BACK AROUND 20 TO 25MPH FOR GUSTS. AND WE’LL CONTINUE TO SEE THOSE RIGHT AROUND THERE WORKING YOUR WAY THROUGH THURSDAY AS WELL. WIND CHILLS OVERNIGHT AGAIN WITH THE TEMPERATURES GAINING THROUGHOUT THE OVERNIGHT. NOT BAD. BUT BY THURSDAY MORNING HERE’S A LOOK. IT IS GOING TO BE COLD AND FRIGID YET AGAIN AS MORE COLD AIR PLUMMETS ITS WAY DOWN AND THOSE WINDS PICK BACK UP. SO WE’RE LOOKING AT OVERNIGHT LOW AGAIN BACK AROUND NINE, AND TOMORROW WE’RE PUSHING BACK UP TO 32 WITH THAT CHANCE FOR A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT SNOW OUT THERE. EIGHT DAY FORECAST. WE SEE THOSE TEMPERATURES BACK DOWN INTO THE TEENS FOR YOUR THURSDAY PUSHING MID 30S ON SATURDAY. AND WE TAKE A LITTLE BIT OF A DIP AS WE END THE WEEKEND. BUT FROM THERE WE SURGE. WE’RE BACK INTO THE MIDDLE 40S ON TUESDAY WITH SUNNY SKIES. IT IS LOOKING W
