The Des Moines area should briefly top 40°, then northwest winds will gust up to 40 mph at times, eventually driving temperatures down to around 10° by Thursday morning.Enough wind will remain into sunrise Thursday that subzero wind chills are likely from about I-80 northward. Northern Iowa could feel as cold as -15° early Thursday. After that, we warm up into the coming weekend! Highs in the 40s to 50° are on track for this Saturday and Sunday.
