Iowa snowfall totals: How much snow has fallen Thursday

Iowa snowfall totals: How much snow has fallen Thursday
RIGHT NOW. WE START WITH WET WEATHER, WHAT WITH THE WEATHER IMPACT DAY ROADS ACROSS CENTRAL IOWA WERE ABSOLUTELY COVERED THIS AFTERNOON, BUT THANKFULLY THAT SNOW IS MOVING OUT OF OUR AREA. THAT’S WHY WE’RE CHECKING IN WITH WITH DAVID KELLER FOR THE VERY LATEST ON THIS FORECAST. I MEAN, WE HAD SO MUCH SNOWFALL THIS MORNING, BUT NOW THINGS ARE A LITTLE BIT MORE CALM. YEAH, THAT SNOW MOVED IN RIGHT ON SCHEDULE. UNFORTUNATELY, DURING THE MORNING DRIVE OUT THERE ACROSS CENTRAL IOWA, THAT SNOW CONTINUES TO PUSH OFF TO THE EAST. WE STILL HAVE A FEW FLAKES FLYING HERE AROUND THE METRO, BUT THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS NOW DOWN I-80 EAST OF DES MOINES AND CONTINUES TO PUSH INTO EASTERN IOWA. IT’S REALLY BEEN THE CENTRAL THIRD OF IOWA THAT HAS PICKED UP ON THIS SNOW HERE THIS MORNING. YOU CAN SEE SOME LIGHT SNOW. NORTHERN DES MOINES ANKENY UP TOWARD AMES THAT CONTINUES TO PUSH OFF TOWARD NEWTON AND MARSHALLTOWN. SLIGHTLY HEAVIER SNOW THERE. NEWTON JUST NORTH OF I-80, ALSO HAVE A COUPLE OF POCKETS OF SLIGHTLY HEAVIER SNOW AS YOU GET DOWN TOWARDS CENTERVILLE AND OTTUMWA. ALL OF THIS CONTINUES TO PUSH OFF TO THE EAST. WE DO HAVE A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY HERE FOR THE METRO THROUGH 3:00. I EXPECT THAT WILL BE CANCELED AS THE SNOW CONTINUES TO MOVE OUT. BUT IT DID PUT DOWN A GOOD LAYER OF SNOW AND SOME IMPRESSIVE SNOW TOTALS IN SPOTS. AMES BOONE ABOUT FOUR INCHES OF SNOW. ANKENY ABOUT TWO AND A HALF TO THREE INCHES OF SNOW HERE IN DES MOINES. I’VE MEASURED ABOUT AN INCH AND A QUARTER, SO NOT QUITE AS MUCH AS YOU SAW UP THERE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE METRO. THAT SNOW CERTAINLY STILL FALLING, BUT THE ROADS ARE LOOKING A LOT BETTER OUT THERE. TEMPERATURES ARE IN THE 20S, 26 DEGREES. NOT GOING TO WARM MUCH THIS AFTERNOON AS THAT SN
