Three Republican presidential hopefuls announced plans Tuesday to attend the annual Cy-Hawk football game.Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former President Donald Trump will make an appearance at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames Saturday. “We’re thrilled to invite Donald J. Trump to the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game this weekend," Matt Whitaker, a former Iowa football player who briefly served as Trump’s acting attorney general of the United States from 2018-19, said in a news release.After news broke of Trump's announcement, vlog sports reporter Shannon Ehrhardt asked Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz for his response."Great," Ferentz said. "There will be about 60,000 other people, too. That's great ... I mean it's, you know, election year in Iowa."Before the Cy-Hawk game, Hutchinson and Ramaswamy also plan to attend an Iowa Fourth Congressional District GOP Presidential Rally tailgate Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Story County Fairgrounds.
