Pour another glass of vino and don’t worry about that second cup of java. According to a new study, those could be the keys to living into your 90s. Researchers at the University of California – Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders conducted the study over a period of 15 years. The “90 + Study” was initiated to determine what factors were associated with longevity. The study also found that participants who were overweight during their 70s lived longer than those who were at a normal weight or even underweight. The study also looked into the rates of cognitive and functional decline in the test subjects. Researchers found that the participants do not have sufficient neuropathology in their brain to explain their cognitive loss.
