THE REST OF THE STATE AND COUNTRY HAD TO HAVE THEIR EYES GLUED ON THE TV TO WATCH THE HISTORIC MOMENT. IT FELT LIKE THE WORLD DID. WHETHER IT WAS AT HOME OR AT A BAR OR RESTAURANT, PEOPLE WERE WEARING BLACK AND GOLD. CLIVE HAWKEYES BAR. THE FRONT ROW TURNED ALL THEIR TVS TO THE GAME. PEOPLE WERE COUNTING DOWN THE BASKETS UNTIL CLARK TOOK THE RECORD. THEY DIDN’T HAVE TO WAIT LONG. CLARK ACTUALLY GOT HER START JUST TWO MILES DOWN THE ROAD AT DOWLING CATHOLIC. OH MY GOD, IT’S A MOMENT OF AWESOME. AND I KNEW SHE WOULD MAKE. SHE HAS BROKEN SO MANY RECORDS, BUT SHE IS PHENOMENAL. YOU CAN DEFINITELY FEEL THE ENERGY HERE. The community where legendary Hawkeye basketball star Caitlin Clark was raised settled in front of their TV screens Thursday evening to watch the Dowling Catholic graduate break the NCAA all-time scoring record in women's basketball. With 3,569 career points, Clark made history Thursday, but she started making headlines years ago on her high school team. Just a few miles away from Clark's alma mater, fans packed into the Front Row Sports Bar to watch her make history and represent their community.
