FOR THE THIRD STRAIGHT SEASON, THE CONFETTI THAT FALLS FROM THE RAFTERS IS BLACK AND GOLD. AND ONCE AGAIN, IOWA IS THE CLASS OF THE BIG TEN CONFERENCE. IT WAS BY NO MEANS EASY. IOWA, WHO ENTERED THIS GAME AS A 17.5 POINT FAVORITE, WAS PUSHED TO THE LIMIT BY NEBRASKA. BUT BEHIND CAITLIN CLARK’S 38 POINT PERFORMANCE, THE HAWKEYES FOUND THEMSELVES IN A VERY FAMILIAR PLACE ON A LADDER, CUTTING DOWN NETS, CELEBRATING ANOTHER TROPHY. COMING BACK TO IOWA CITY. IT’S THE TEAM’S THIRD TITLE IN A ROW, AS WE KNOW, AND THEY’RE FOURTH IN THE LAST SIX YEARS. CAITLIN CLARK AND THIS TEAM’S LEGACY HAS BEEN CEMENTED FOR A LONG TIME NOW. SUNDAY, THEY ADDED TO IT. THOSE ARE THE MOMENTS YOU LIVE FOR OUR FANS. YOU KNOW, THEY WERE INCREDIBLE. THEY KIND OF WILLED US TO THIS VICTORY. THEY NEVER GAVE UP ON US. AND YOU KNOW, WE NEVER GAVE UP ON EACH OTHER. THINGS WEREN’T ALWAYS PRETTY. THINGS WEREN’T ALWAYS GREAT, ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST HALF. I DIDN’T SHOOT THE BALL WELL. BUT YOU KNOW, YOU JUST GOT TO WIPE IT, LET IT GO AND COME BACK AND RESPOND. GOING INTO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT AS BIG TEN CHAMPIONS, TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS. UM, YOU KNOW, THAT’S WHAT WE DID LAST YEAR. AND WE WENT ON A GREAT RUN AS WELL. AND IT’S INDESCRIBABLE. WE’VE BEEN I’VE BEEN HERE MY THREE YEARS. WE’VE WON IT FOR THREE YEARS. AND UM, TO DO IT WITH THIS GROUP OF GIRLS IS REALLY SPECIAL. LISA BLUDER CUTTING DOWN THE NETS THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR, DOING IT AS IOWA TO ONCE AGAIN THE CLASS OF THE BIG TEN CONFERENCE. WE WILL HAVE A LOT MORE COMING UP IN SPORTS IN JUST A BIT.
