Despite making a run to the Big 12 Championship Game, the Iowa State football team didn't receive much recognition Thursday when the league's annual awards were announced.The conference announced its players of the year along with its first- and second-team honorees Thursday afternoon. Jaylin Noel, a senior wide receiver and return specialist, was named the co-Special Teams Player of the Year and earned first-team honors as a kick and punt returner.That's it for the Cyclones on the first team.Neither Noel nor fellow wide receiver Jayden Higgins, the only wide receiver duo in the country to each reach the 1,000-yard mark this season, made the first team at receiver.
