MANY HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE, LOTS OF ONLINE ORDERS FOR PICKUP AT STORE A LOT OF STUDENTS JUST POPPING IN AND GRABBING THE SHIRT. BUT WE’RE DEFINITELY SEEING ONLINE SALES AND IN STORE SALES TO THE SHIRT. A PIECE OF IOWA STATE HISTORY AND A KEEPSAKE FOR THOSE WHO ONLY HAVE A FEW MONTHS LEFT. I’M A SENIOR THIS YEAR, SO BEING ABLE TO SAY, LIKE MY SENIOR YEAR WAS A HUGE YEAR. I WENT TO A BIG 12 SCHOOL AND THEY HAVE A POSSIBILITY TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP IS REALLY BIG TO ME. Despite making a run to the Big 12 Championship Game, the Iowa State football team didn't receive much recognition Thursday when the league's annual awards were announced.The conference announced its players of the year along with its first- and second-team honorees Thursday afternoon. Jaylin Noel, a senior wide receiver and return specialist, was named the co-Special Teams Player of the Year and earned first-team honors as a kick and punt returner.That's it for the Cyclones on the first team.Neither Noel nor fellow wide receiver Jayden Higgins, the only wide receiver duo in the country to each reach the 1,000-yard mark this season, made the first team at receiver. No Cyclones made the list on the defensive side of the ball, either.Higgins did made the second-team offense along with fullback Stevo Klotz. Defensively, cornerback Jontez Williams and safety Malik Verdon earned second-team honors.Eleven other Cyclones earned honorable mention recognition. Iowa State's 11 honorable mention honorees were the most in the conference.Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Colorado cornerback Travis Hunter were the league's offensive and defensive players of the year, respectively.Iowa State finished the regular season 10-2 (7-2 in Big 12 play).
