Most central Iowa towns have followed the tradition of Beggars' Night for decades. Costumed kids go door-to-door telling jokes in exchange for candy on Oct. 30.Recently, some towns have broken with tradition. Some have chosen to designate the last Saturday in October as the night for trick-or-treating while others do it on Halloween night. So do you know when your town's trick-or-treat night is this year? Here's a list of trick-or-treating dates and times across central Iowa this year. (Times are 6-8 p.m. unless noted.) Note: several towns have moved their trick-or-treating nights from Wednesday to Thursday due to storms in the forecast.
