Ames police identify 23-year-old man killed in shooting at Elks Lodge
The Ames Police Department has identified a 23-year-old Des Moines man killed in a shooting at the Ames Elks Lodge late Friday night.Police said they received a call saying multiple shots were fired from several groups attending a private event at around midnight.Officers found Stashaun D.L. Brown with gunshot injuries at the scene. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.“Based on the initial investigation, it appears multiple shots were fired by several groups of people who were attending a private event at the Elks Lodge,” police said through a news release.No other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made in the case as police continue to investigate.
