Rib fractures are common injuries in older adults, and adverse outcomes are often associated with inadequate pain control.1 There is growing evidence that evidence-based pathways, including neuroaxial blockade and surgical stabilization of rib fractures (SSRF) can decrease morbidity and mortality in patients 65 years or older.2 However, these pathways have limitations.
