Abstract

Roy Grinker's footsteps are too large for any one man to fill, as his many students and admirers—and certainly this Editor— well know. He is tough and candid. At a time when we need it, he is a model of integrity to whom patients, communities, and students of psychiatry can turn. He cares about psychiatry and the field's accessibility to knowledge and growth. He still directs major research and training at Michael Reese. His good friend Percival Bailey would like to know that after a lapse of 35 years Roy has finally advanced from his old rank of Associate Professor to Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Chicago!
