Abstract

THIS PERIOD in the world's history has been described in many ways, but perhaps as good a title as any would be "an age of revolution." With modern methods of communication, transportation, manufacture, research, merchandising, and advertising, there is no longer time for the orderly Darwinian evolution. Certainly, even the most devout evolutionist is hard put to find order in such rages as the topless bathing suit, Beatle haircuts, or low-calorie foods. He who went to school in the 1930's, imbibing the ultimate in educational techniques, now 30 years later finds himself unable to even comprehend the simple arithmetic lesson of his 10 year old; and if he should come upon an old globe in the attic, he would wonder if his really had been the same world as that upon which his son looks.
