THE WORLD CONGRESS OF DERMATOLOGY, which is organized every 5 years in a different country, will take place in Paris, France, from July 1 through July 5, 2002. This is the 20th international congress in the history of dermatology. The first World Congress, held in Paris in 1889, was attended by about 100 people, mainly representing the countries of old Europe. Several languages were used for official communication, including French, English, Spanish, and German.

In July, instead of 100 people, several thousand, and perhaps more than 10 000 dermatologists from all over the world will actively participate in this memorable journey through the world of dermatology. This gathering of members of our global "dermatological village" will offer all participants the valuable opportunity to establish or renew relationships, both scientific and social.
