A 71-year-old man presented with a 4-month history of a generalized papular eruption that had begun in the summer. He had multiple, 2- to 5-mm, firm, smooth, flesh-colored papules clustered on his back, chest, abdomen, and limbs (Figure 1 and Figure 2); some of these papules were umbilicated. There was no pruritus. The results of the rest of the physical examination were normal. Two years earlier, the patient had undergone a prostatectomy because of prostatic carcinoma; he was considered to be in complete remission. He had also inflammatory bowel disease that had been treated with antimalarial drugs. The antimalarial treatment was discontinued when the eruption developed, and corticosteroid therapy (15 mg/d) was initiated.
