Granuloma Faciale, Right Ear. Presented by Maj O. C. Jensen, MC, USA, and Lt Col L. R. Mordecai, MC, USA.听
This 30-year-old woman was previously presented before this association approximately one year ago. At that time, she showed a granulomatous appearing lesion of the right ear which had been present for approximately four years. In the past year, she has continued to develop pruritic papules on the ear.Examination reveals multiple granulomatous appearing papules of the pinnae, pretragal region, and scalp superior to the pinna. The external canal is involved only at the meatus. The tympanic membrane is uninvolved.
Laboratory Data.鈥�听
The lesions have been biopsied repeatedly. Cultures for fungi, tuberculosis, and atypical mycobacteria repeatedly have been negative. Purified protein derivative test for tuberculosis first and second strength are negative. Coccidioidin, histoplasmin, and blastomycin are also negative. Chest x-ray was normal.
