Laundry detergent recalled due to bacteria contamination
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has on Woolite laundry detergent due to a potential bacterial contamination.
The recalled Woolite Delicates Detergent was sold on Amazon in January 2025. The recall applies to the 50 fluid-ounce size.
The species of bacteria is said to negatively affect those with a weakened immune system, as they "face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment." Those with a healthy immune system are said to not be at risk. The particular bacteria can enter the body through the eyes or a cut in the skin.
While no injuries or incidents have been reported as of March 20, 2025, the company is issuing the recall voluntarily out of caution.
A fast track recall is a voluntary action taken by a business, through the supervision of the CPSC, to stop potentially contaminated products from further sale and distribution.
