Woman with name similar to crystal meth arrested for possession of meth, police say
“Have you ever wondered what Crystal Meth looks like?”
That’s the question the St. Augustine Police Department posted, along with the picture of a woman named Crystal June Methvin.
The post on Facebook now has been shared more than 60 times and has several reactions and comments.
One person said, “Social media post win for the day! Lol great post. Oh and great job like always!”
Another said, “SAPD..... you rock!!! And I don't mean the illegal rocks....Keep doing a great job, and ALWAYS be safe.”
Some were concerned about the publicity for the woman.
“I appreciate the hard work you do day in and day out, StA PD but I implore you to re-think your social media approach to sharing embarrassing mugshots of people who have been arrested for reasons related to drug-abuse,” said one user. “There must be more effective deterrents that don’t shame people who need rehab and a chance for a fresh start?”

“Well meet, w/f Crystal June METHvin (No Joke) and her friend, Douglas Michael Nickerson. Both were arrested by St. Augustine Police Department, this morning for Crystal Meth!
“Officers responded to the parking lot at (69 S. Dixie Hwy) this morning at approx. 0600hrs, after receiving an anonymous complaint, about an unlicensed driver.
“When the officers arrived, they found three subjects sitting in a parked vehicle. A consent to search the vehicle and individuals, revealed they were in possession of drug paraphernalia and a substance that was field tested and tested positive for Crystal Meth. Both were placed into custody by Officer J. Brown (#2942) and escorted to the St. John’s County jail.”
