Viral picture: Firefighters take brief rest on ground while battling wildfire
While risking their lives to help the thousands of people threatened by a raging wildfire, firefighters need to take breaks to get rest. Richard Tuggle in Redding, California, took a photo of five firefighters getting whatever shut-eye they could. Tuggle told CNN he went to check on the property Friday morning after fleeing his home earlier this week and saw the firefighters taking a break. The picture has gone viral on Facebook, being shared more than 100,000 times. "This picture literally brings me to a whole new respect for the firefighters. After days of fighting this fire, they curled up and slept on the ground in my neighborhood just to do it again tonight," the caption reads. "Thank you for saving my home and running into a fire that the rest of the town is running from. You all are true heroes." Tuggle said he decided not to disturb them, adding he thinks they were working very close to his home because there were hoses and fire trucks around his property. A hose can be seen in the photo next to the scorched patch of grass/trees.
