An on-demand pizza vending machine that can provide sustenance by the slice might be exactly what college students need.Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, recently added the vending machine, called a “pizza ATM,” to its campus with the hope that eventually students can order from it anytime of day.“We are always looking for innovative and new ways to provide services to our students,” said Abby Hertzfeld, of the university’s Office of Student Life Dining Services, according to a university news story published Tuesday.Students can order 10-inch personal pies for $8 that are ready to eat in three to four minutes.The machine has a 70-pizza capacity, according to OSU.A similar pizza vending machine opened at a Puerto Rico university last year and at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland in 2017.The first pizza vending machine in the United States opened at Xavier University in Cincinnati in 2016, according to reports.Pizza vending machines have been popular in other countries for several years.
