United Airlines said it had found loose door plug bolts on a number of its own Boeing 737 Max 9s – days after an Alaska Airline aircraft experienced "explosive decompression."Certain Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft are now grounded nationwide. On Monday, United confirmed it found the loose bolts on an undisclosed number of its 737 Max 9 aircraft as the company is performing FAA-mandated inspections following the Friday incident."Since we began preliminary inspections on Saturday, we have found instances that appear to relate to installation issues in the door plug – for example, bolts that needed additional tightening," United officials said in a statement. The United news was first reported by The Air Current, an aviation industry publication.United, which has more Max 9s than any other U.S. carrier, has canceled more than 470 flights since Saturday because of the Max 9 inspections. The inspection process requires removing two rows of seats and interior aircraft panels and requires five technicians, according to United.
