Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has filed a defamation lawsuit against 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. The lawsuit focuses on Clinton’s comments in October that Russia was “grooming” a Democratic presidential candidate, saying, “She’s a favorite of the Russians.” "I'm not making any predictions, but I think they've got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate," Clinton said, speaking on a podcast with David Plouffe, a former adviser to President Barack Obama. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Marianne Williamson were the others – and the only one who has been accused of being boosted by Russia, according to a report from the New York Times. The lawsuit, which was filed in New York, alleges Clinton “deliberately and maliciously made false statements in an attempt to derail Rep.
