If you can survive a grocery store run together, you know your relationship is on pretty solid ground. It's only fitting that a store like would eventually become the spot for a .
The elaborate plan, which included a maze through the store with special signs advertising "The Millennial Grocery Tour" and puns like "Barley Getting Started," was dreamed up by Sidd Sinha. Sinha met his now-fiancee on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel, and proposed to her on a recent trip to New York City.
The couple told they had a busy day going to the New York Botanical Garden, taking a gondola ride in Central Park and eating dinner at Lady Gaga's parents' restaurant, Joanna Trattoria. Because of all the activities — and an upcoming trip to Spain, which Sinha hinted at being the spot for a proposal — Melanie Diaz wasn't expecting her boyfriend to pop the question.
But after a trip around the store, a flower delivery and an unnecessarily long conversation about almonds, Sinha got down on one knee right in front of the sample stand.
Now that the two are engaged, they're getting a little help planning a proper engagement party. offered to throw Sinha and Diaz a party this September. A celebrity chef is set to cater, cooking food made with — what else? — groceries.
