Rossen Reports: These toys will be hard to find this holiday season
Don't shoot the messenger, but you may want to start your holiday shopping now.
We've told you about shipping shortages before but this one will hit you at a frustrating time. The makers of some of the most popular toys in the United States are sounding the alarm that there will be a shortage of toys and games leading up to the holidays.
Why? COVID-19 has caused a global shipping crisis and labor shortages.
Which toys? MGA Entertainment owns and distributes Little Tikes, Rainbow High dolls, Bratz dolls and LOL Surprise. Basic Fun owns and distributes Fisher-Price toys, Tonka trucks, K'nex and Care Bears among other brands. Hasbro and Mattel have said they think they’ve secured enough shipping containers to get toys here, but they'll have to raise prices to compensate for higher shipping costs.
How much more? Experts say we’ll be seeing price increases ranging from 5% to 10%. That’s why it’s best to start shopping now!
