Chiefs fans celebrate ticket to Super Bowl at Des Moines tavern
WE’RE READY FOR IT. BIG CELEBRATION THERE. BIG CELEBRATION FOR CHIEFS FANS IN DES MOINES AS WELL. TONIGHT, vlog ZOOPHILIA JACOBSON WAS AT TRUMAN’S TAVERN WHERE THEY ALL GOT TOGETHER TO WATCH THE BIG GAME. THE GAME MAY BE OVER, BUT THE CELEBRATION IS JUST BEGINNING FOR KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FANS HERE IN DES MOINES. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE HEADED TO THE SUPER BOWL? HEY, IT’S IT’S COMING BACK TO US. SO AND WE’RE GOING TO TAKE IT. SO JUST GET READY. WELCOME TO THE RED KINGDOM. IT’S COLD IN DES MOINES. IT’S KNOWN AS TRUMAN’S TAVERN. THIS IS WHERE KC FANS WATCHED AS THE CHIEFS SECURED A SPOT IN THE SUPER BOWL. PEOPLE FILLED THE RESTAURANT WITH A SEA OF RED AND GOLD, ALL SINGING THE SAME SONG. GO CHIEFS! AND IT DIDN’T MATTER IF FANS HAVE BEEN CHEERING THEM ON FOR THEIR WHOLE LIFE. MY UNCLE BOUGHT US A KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FOOTBALL HELMETS THE YEAR THEY WON THE SUPER BOWL IN 1970, OR JUST FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. I’VE BEEN IN CHIEFS FAN FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS, AT LEAST SINCE I MOVED HERE. EVERYONE HAD THEIR EYES GLUED TO THE SCREENS, TAKING IN EVERY MOMENT THE GOOD AND THE BAD, ALL WHILE ENJOYING DRINKS AND FOOD. IT IS THE SECOND BEST THING TO BEING AT ARROWHEAD. FANS KNOW THEY’RE NOT THE ONLY ONES ROOTING FOR THE CHIEFS HERE IN THE HAWKEYE STATE, BUT THEY ADMIT IT’S JUST NICE TO SEE IT. WE’RE IN IOWA, WE’RE NOT IN KANSAS CITY, SO THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT YOU CAN FEEL LIKE EVERYONE SUPPORTS YOU FOR YOUR TEAM AND FEEL IT FROM TIME TO TIME. THIS IS THE ONE PLACE I KNOW WE CAN COME AND BE WITH A BUNCH OF OTHER CHIEFS FANS, ESPECIALLY ON A DAY LIKE SUNDAY. AND WILL LIKELY SEE SOME OF THESE FANS BACK HERE IN TWO WEEKS TO WATCH THE CHIEFS IN THE SUPER BOWL. THE RESTAURANT SAYS RESERVATIONS TO SECURE A SPOT TO WATCH THAT GAME OPEN UP ON MONDAY IN DES MOINES. OF
