The reports improving road conditions as Monday snow is clearing out, winds have calmed, and crews have been working overnight.
Interstate 235 and Interstate 80/35 in Des Moines are mostly clear but wet. There are some crashes reported on ramps though. Some county highways are still listed completely covered, while others are partially covered. Check before you travel.

FORECAST
Expect clouds and a high in the mid-20s today. Winds have calmed to 5 to 10 mph.
Our next round of snow arrives late tonight and into Wednesday. This system will move through quickly, arriving in the metro by 6 a.m. and leaving around an inch of fresh snow in central Iowa.
Frigid temperatures follow the system, with Thursday highs in the teens under partly sunny skies.
