Mark Hamill to receive star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

It's about time!

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill is no stranger to being among the stars in a galaxy far, far away, but now he's set to join them here on Earth.Although we would've sworn Hamill already had one, the actor is now, finally, getting his very own star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, being honored for his work on the likes of Star Wars, Kingsman and his turn as the animated Joker.Mark will receive the 2,630th star on the famous Los Angeles attraction on March 8 in front of the glitzy El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard (via Variety).Following the news, Star Trek's William Shatner congratulated his fellow sci-fi icon, but couldn't resist a trademark Shatner dig."Congratulations! BTW ask for a star on the south side of the street. I'm on the north side and don't want to devalue the neighborhood," he joked.Mark took it all in good humor, replying: "Thanks, Bill. It wouldn't be as special without a classic Shatner-burn from you! Live Long, But Get Lost."As usual, Mark will not be alone to celebrate his achievement, and will be joined by Star Wars series creator George Lucas and Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford. The Luke Skywalker actor told fans on Twitter that he was beyond grateful to be receiving a star on the Walk of Fame, saying, "Can't say this is a dream come true because I was never foolish enough to think something like this could ever happen," and used the hashtag "BeyondGr8ful."Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, said that she hoped Star Wars fans would be "over the moon" to see Hamill honored with a star."We are proud to add this extraordinary actor on our historic Walk of Fame," she stated.
