Stabbing investigation: Iowa DCI says 1 killed in Saturday morning incident in Greenfield

Officials say one person is dead and another is in custody following a stabbing in Greenfield.
According to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Greenfield Police Department responded to a call around 12:45 a.m. Saturday for a stabbing. When officers arrived in the 200 block of NE 4th Street, they found the body of a man inside a home. A second person with non-life-threatening injuries was also found in the home.
One neighbor told vlog he saw the chaos as police arrived on scene.
"Our scanner went off. It said the address, and my wife goes, 'That's our neighborhood,' so we got up and looked out," Jake Zimmerline said. "You could hear a young lady screaming and crying. Then there was somebody out in the yard walking around with no shirt on, there was a bunch of lights and firemen going by. You just knew it wasn't good."
Officials have not publicly identified either of the victims.
Thirty-nine-year-old Yudiel Vega-Blanco has been charged with first-degree murder and willful injury causing bodily injury. Authorities say Vega-Blanco was taken into custody without incident and was brought to the Adair County Jail.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting the Greenfield Police Department, the Adair County Sheriff's Office, and the Adair County Attorney's Office.
