More details have come out following initial reports that in the last few weeks for an alarmingly low white blood cell count, a complication that can arise in kidney transplant patients. reports that Gomez had a panic attack during her second hospital visit and decided to seek treatment for anxiety and depression after it.
“She has had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point,” a source told the outlet. “She realized she needed to seek additional help for her ongoing emotional issues. She’s surrounded by close family and has a lot of support. She’s doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast.”
