Kensington Palace just released a slew of special royal family holiday photos, including this cute snap of Prince William and Kate Middleton posing with their three children -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis:
But there's a super special sartorial detail here that you probably missed — namely the fact that Princess Charlotte is wearing her older brother Prince George's sweater. And not just any sweater! This is the sweater George wore to celebrate the queen's 90th birthday:
And it also has a special meaning to Charlotte, who already wore it once before to pose for photos with her newborn baby brother Prince Louis:
In other words, this simple sweater has a lot of history in the royal family's newest generation, and it definitely doesn't seem like a coincidence that Kate and William opted to dress Charlotte in it for their holiday photo. The royals see the value of hand-me-downs, too!
